The Anglican Faith
The Christian profession of Faith is the Nicene Creed.
The following elements are characteristic of the Anglican Tradition:
We believe that the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God
We believe in the Episcopal nature of the Church (consisting of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons) as an inherent element of apostolic faith and practice
We believe in the Sacraments of the Church
We believe in the Catholic Creeds: the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian
We believe in the Councils of the undivided Church
We receive the Liturgical Tradition of the Book of Common Prayer as the standard for Anglican faith and practice
We receive the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion of 1571 as a legitimate expression of Anglican belief regarding doctrinal controversies of that time.
